CARE GUIDE
Your ECO SHADES are made from GRS-certified recycled materials with stainless steel temple cores and UV400 lenses. Treated well, they'll last for years. Here's how.
Cleaning the lenses: Rinse the lenses under lukewarm running water to remove dust and grit first - wiping a dry lens drags particles across the surface and scratches it. Add a small drop of mild dish soap if needed, then dry gently with a clean microfibre cloth. Avoid paper towels, shirts, and tissues; they're abrasive. Skip alcohol, ammonia, and window cleaners, which can damage the lens coating over time.
Tightening the hinge screws: Our frames use 5-barrel optical hinges with friction-lock screws. Over months of daily wear, a screw can loosen slightly. Check now and then with a small eyewear screwdriver and turn gently clockwise until tight - but don't over-tighten. A drop of clear nail polish on the thread keeps it in place if it keeps working loose.
Adjusting the temple fit: The temples can be gently reshaped for a more comfortable, custom fit:
- Submerge the temple (the arm) in lukewarm water for 30-60 seconds to soften the material. Lukewarm only - never boiling.
- Once warm and slightly flexible, gently bend the temple to suit your head and face shape - narrower for a tighter hold, wider for a looser fit, or angle the tips behind the ears for more grip.
- Hold the new shape for a few seconds, then cool under cold water to set it.
- Try them on and repeat if needed. Make small adjustments rather than one big bend.
If you'd rather not do it yourself, any optician can adjust the fit for you in seconds.
Storing your frames: Keep them in the pouch or case when not worn. Don't leave them on the dashboard or anywhere hot - prolonged heat can warp the frame. Rest them lenses-up, never face-down on the lenses.
